12/6/2023 0 Comments Best puzzle games like mystHaven't played them myself, but my aunt swears by the Atlantis games and I have seen positive reviews of Schizm. If you are looking for more fantastical stuff though, the Atlantis games and Schizm may be for you. Though I only played the first for a few hours, so I don't know if all the games in that series are good. If you are in the mood for darker and downright eerie stuff (which I wouldn't be if I was in pain), I'd recommend the Dark Fall games. In this list, well highlight the best games like Myst to play in 2023, including the best puzzle games like Myst, adventure games like Myst, and PC games. I think its music and interesting setting would be a good way to get you to forget about the pain, but it is an easy game that you will probably finish in no time (like three or four hours, from what I have heard). Personally, I am currently playing a game called Lost Eden which is a first-person adventure game, but not exactly like Myst (since the puzzles are much easier). I would really, really recommend these to you, I think they are a great way to get your mind away from the pain. If it doesn't though, I'd say the puzzles are satisfying and, most importantly, the world feels absolutely real and immersed me in seconds. Even though these games play like Myst, you can unfortunately die in these which might deter you. I think the best choice would be the Journey Man Trilogy, which are games about a time traveling police man basically, which I found to be an awesome setting. They look like the kind of games I'd enjoy. I think I wound up adding most if not all you recommended here. And broke down and created a Steam account since i could be here a while and need more options. Heck, if you're just into adventure or puzzle games in general, I can make you a crapton more recommendations on top of those. The Schizm series required you to be a Menza member to solve The Light House was the first puzzle adventure I played. Prominence (extremely well-designed first-person adventure game) The Painscreek Killings (detective-style game, requires you to take a lot of notes about the things you read) The Talos Principle (haven't personally played, but heard good things about) If you don't mind using Steam, try one of the following: Frogwares' series of Sherlock Holmes games (basically anything that says "Sherlock Holmes" on it here on GOG) Lighthouse: The Dark Being (Sierra's answer to Myst) Schizm: Mysterious Journey (haven't personally played, but similar style) Return of the Obra Dinn (not really a first-person adventure/puzzle game like the others here, more of a detective thing, but absolutely excellent) The 7th Guest/The 11th Hour (very cool B-movie horror atmosphere with these, although the puzzles leave something to be desired and the games really need a facelift) Timelapse (not the greatest puzzles here, you basically already played the best of the genre, but still decent) What you're looking for are adventure games with environmental puzzles.
